AtomSpam provides an Anti-Spam service and also a set of components. more>> AtomSpam was bourne out of the frustration of receiving hundreds of Spam email messages each week. As office workers, our PCs are connected 24hrs a day to the Internet and we wanted a mechanism whereby each message on arrival would be interrogated and moved if necessary to a quarantine folder. We also wanted the option of telling the scanner that a message was good or bad so that it would be able to learn as more messages arrived.
AtomSpam provides an Anti-Spam service and also a set of components which can enhance Microsoft Office Outlook in a way which is beneficial to the user and also the Anti Spam community.
AtomSpam works by first checking the message against an internal database (which gets updated on each release) and if it believes the message to be good, it performs a final check with our central server on the Internet. On contact with the server, AtomSpam will send an encrypted string containing the user unique ID, and information contained within the message. A result code is generated and returned to AtomSpam and the message is handled depending on the result.
Each time the user blocks a message, this information is sent to the central server so that other users can benefit.
AtomSpam is part of the Spam Monitor Central service we have set-up to fight Spam and is activated upon installation.
The AtomSpam service is currently free.<<less
