Terminal Themes are a collection of templates in snazzy colors for the Terminal application in OS X.

Recently there have been a lot of utilities released that bill themselves as telnet launchers, etc. Most of them cost money.
Many people dont realize that the same thing can be accomplished simply by editing ".term" files and dropping them in a certain location. Whats more, with .term files you are not limited to telnet or ssh sessions. Any terminal command can be excecuted from the .term file. Also, you can set the font, the color schemes, the window title, the window transparency, and more for each session in a term file.

That said, it can be a bit of a task to create these .term files from scratch. For that reason, Wooden Brain Concepts is releasing our personal collection of .term file templates, with some explanation about how to install and edit them.

Terminal creates a widget that has a JavaScript and system command capabilities. In other words, it is an interactive JavaScript shell and a bash shell emulator.

The JavaScript shell contains all of the Neuromancer libraries (see site for documentation), and can use most of them interactively (the web service unmarshaler is still under development).

Whats New in This Release:

· Updated to the new Neuromancer 0.6.0 libraries, and added a PATH variable so when you are in system mode you no longer have to type the full path to the applications. For example ls -alFh is no longer /bin/ls -alFh . By default it looks in /usr/bin /usr/local/bin and /sbin for applications.

S-terminal lets you create a secure X terminal over an ecrypted tunnel.

Regular X terminals pass unencrypted data between you the remote machine.

S-terminal creates an encrypted tunnel through which all X traffic passes.

It replaces the remote xdm login screen with a local application that collects username and password, then sets up an ssh tunnel to the remote host and starts a session.

It is highly configurable both in appearance and behavior, and deployed S-terminals can be remotely administered.

S-terminal was developed to run under Knoppix, but it should be portable to most Linux systems. With minor changes, it should work on any Unix-like system that has X, perl, tcl/tk and expect installed.

Best of all, it can be added to a KNOPPIX CD to create an instant, bootable, secure X terminal CD.

AST stands for AppleScript Terminal. On double-click, this applet by danB presents the user with a shell to issue AppleScript commands to other applications.

The script is open source and demonstrates one way to utilize the "run script" command.

Terminal Pal is a handy assistant to your Terminal application. It allows you to directly execute .term files from an always-available menu without requiring you to switch to the Terminal first.

If you regularly telnet or ssh or FTP to several servers, Terminal Pal is a great helper.

Terminal Pal searches ~/library/application support/terminal/ for .term files.

Telnet terminal server for Windows 95/98. Supports all full screen text applications, color, printer redirection, and all funciton keys.

Cascade terminal is a command line for OS 8/9 which runs its own programs in the simple C-Basic language.

It is a good program for teaching terminal and basic concepts.

Completly freeware.

Nexus Terminal is a very useful utility that allows you to emulate terminals.

Nexus Terminal is a Telnet 3270/5250/VT/ANSI terminal emulator with:
recording, a script language, host print (both tn3270 (3287, Tn5250 (3812) and LPD), file transfer (IND$FILE), HLLAPI, SSH and SSL support.

A FTP/SFTP client is also included, which has support for several host systems.

Safe Terminal fixes a security weakness with Mac OS X Terminal utility, when it execute shell scripts without the user permission.

If Safari "Open safe files after download" is enabled, its possible to create malicious shell scripts that will be executed by the Terminal automatically after you download them. It is also possible to create malicious shell scripts that look like a document or a folder, that will be executed by Terminal on double click without warning.

After Safe Terminal is installed, the Terminal utility will not execute any file, even if "Open safe files after download" option in Safari is enabled. However, the usage of the Terminal to type and run commands is not effected in any way.
