sdltrs 1.0 brings you a completely functional Radio Shack TRS-80 Model I/III/4/4P emulator for Macintosh OSX, Windows, and Linux. It has been ported from Tim Mann's excellent X-Windows UNIX emulator xtrs. Instead of using the X-Window system for graphics, it uses the portable SDL library. Why did I write another emulator? Several reasons.

First, and foremost, there was no TRS-80 emulator available for Mac OS X. Since I am the author of Atari800MacX, which is based on libSDL, it made it easy for me to make a TRS80 xtrs port based on SDL, so it would run on Windows and Linux as well as Mac OS X.

Second, sdltrs provides a text menu based GUI, which is more user friendly interface than the interface xtrs provides. Finally, sdltrs provides some other enhancements to xtrs, such as the ability to copy and paste from the host to/from the emulator, the ability to save and load the emulator state, disk indicator LED's, fullscreen display, and on the Mac, to emulate an Epson printer as well.

Trust-no-exe is a free executable file filter Trust-no-exe is a free executable file filter that attaches to the operating system and filters all executable files, be it .exe .com .dll .drv .sys .dpl etc from all drives and all network shares against a list of files or paths, you, the administrator provide as trusted applications. If a prohibited executable (one not in the allow list or one explicitly defined in the deny list) is loaded, a popup box informs the user with an intelligent message that can be customised to your site.
As Trust-no-exe will only allow executables to load from your allow list, enabling execution from files in c:winnt (or c:windows on XP), and c:program files and by using normal file permission to restrict the write-ability of these folders, you can very quickly obtain a system which only allows authorised programs which you have installed to be executed, while still allowing normal access (all but execution) to other files.
On the other hand perhaps you are worried about all these PE viruses, executable Christmas/birthday cards, screen savers etc that are coming in via email. While most of your users do not click on these programs you are worried about security holes in your email client, either hiding extensions or embedding files into html messages, or if the virus is so new your virus scanner has not yet got a signature for it. By using Trust-no-exe, you can prevent users from opening executable email attachments. The popup message box can be customised to remind users that it is company policy not to open executable files. But what happens if the executable?s don?t have .exe or hidden extensions? How will trust-no-exe know if they are executable or data files?
Trust-no-exe hooks into the operating systems routines for creating a process and loading it into memory. If the operating system attempts to load any compiled code into memory ready to give it execution as a process or thread, trust-no-exe will jump on it and prevent the code from being loaded into memory. Therefore trust-no-one doesn?t rely on the file extension and can not be easily fooled.

MapSphere 0.97.161 is an effective program which provides you easy way to view and organize geographical data of different kind.

This might be raster maps and satellite imagery from various sources, your own information received from GPS, tracks of your friends, whatever you want.

You can attach any maps or other geographical data to MapSphere that are available as extensions.

The data is downloaded automatically while scrolling or zooming the map. It is stored locally on the hard drive, so you keep control over it. For example, you can download maps for some area and then work with them without internet connection.

Different data representations extend your possibilities. A traditional 2D (flat) view mode is fast and very suitable for data editing, while a modern 3D mode depicts naturally looking views from any point around the Earth.

There are 2 additional views that can be customized to your needs and display your local and global positions at the same time.

You can search for geographically referenced objects of different nature by selecting a proper search extension such as geocoding provider plug-in for street addresses.

Enhancements:

• New OpenStreetMap themes were added ("Osmarender" and "Cycle Map"). The old one corresponds to "Mapnik".
  
• The hill shading theme for Microsoft LiveSearch Maps was added to MapSphere data layers.
• MapSphere can load tracks in OziExplorer .plt file format now.
• The last chosen data layer is stored in the registry instead of an XML file.
• Checksum is not ignored in GPRMC and PMGNTRK messages in NMEA or Magellan track files.
• The application could overload the processor resources if there were problems with data download.
• The map cells adjacent to one of the poles were not displayed for some data plugins (like OpenStreetMap). Now such cells are formed using the existing data and the uncovered areas are filled with a pattern.
• Local paths could be saved to data settings file incorrectly on Windows Vista.
• The application could start slowly if there was no internet connection.
• Memory leaks were excluded in some data plugins and mapping data handling.
• The start and finish time was not correct in the GPS Position Error Measurement report.
• The double-click on the map didn't work in the previous release. Now it zooms in the map in the specified point.
• The time tolerance was too small in GPS fix handling. This could cause problems with some GPS devices.

Tetrox Screensaver is a colorful screensaver and a replication of a game that I created several years ago. Growing up I loved puzzle games such as Dr Mario and Tetris. A few years ago I created a game which was created a similar game which combined the best elements of Dr Mario with the best of Tetris. The game was called Tetrox.
While creating the game I also developed a Tetrox Screensaver. Sadly the game never made it to a mass audience, which meant there was no need for the screensaver. Until today.
