Disk Throughput Tester 2.0.0.11 is a useful application which brings a way to measure a disks thruput using Windows core read/write features. Your actual disk performance under Windows is determined not only by the speed of your hard drive (as measured by most disk benchmarks) but also by factors such as the main-board chip-set, UDMA/PIO mode, RAID configuration, CPU speed, RAM size and the quality of drivers.
DiskTT simply tries to give you an indication of the amount of Megabytes per second read and write speed you get under your normal Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP environment.
Enhancements:
- New: selection of file caching options. In version 1 lots of people were testing
- their disks with file sizes that were less than the available RAM resulting in very high read thruput. In that particular situation the file is completely cached by windows in the first write action. After that the read tests are fully read from the file cache (eg RAM). You are then in fact measuring the speed of the internal memory through file I/O routines in stead of the hard disk.
- New: when an action is aborted (keyboard stroke or mouse click) the results measured
- Thus far are shown in a hint.
- Changed: set test file size from 10MB up to 100GB.
- Changed: set chunk size from 1KB up to 10MB (in KB).

Huffyuv is a very fast, lossless Win32 video codec. "Lossless" means that the output from the decompressor is bit-for-bit identical with the original input to the compressor. "Fast" means a compression throughput of up to 38 megabytes per second on my 416 MHz Celeron.
Huffyuv is intended to replace uncompressed YUV as a video capture format. It is fast enough to compress full-resolution CCIR 601 video (720 x 480 x 30fps) in real time as its captured on my machine. Huffyuv also supports lossless compression of RGB data, so it can be used for the output of programs like VirtualDub.
To install Huffyuv, right click on huffyuv.inf and select "Install."
Enhancements:
- * Added "Reduced resolution". This will save your file in HALF the orginal resolution, and upscale the video on the fly. Lossy, but very fast!
- * HuffYUV is now storing interlaced mode in the AVI-file. Now interlaced files are properly decoded!
- * Added MMX optimized YUV -> RGB conversion routines.
- * HuffYUV will now suggest to store RGB32 (RGB with alpha), even if it is disabled. Alpha information will however be removed when on.
