Junction - Create Win2K NTFS symbolic links Windows 2000 and higher supports directory symbolic links, where a directory serves as a symbolic link to another directory on the computer. For example, if the directory D:SYMLINK specified C:WINNTSYSTEM32 as its target, then an application accessing D:SYMLINKDRIVERS would in reality be accessing C:WINNTSYSTEM32DRIVERS. Directory symbolic links are known as NTFS junctions in Windows.
Unfortunately, Windows comes with no tools for creating junctions - you have to purchase the Win2K Resource Kit, which comes the linkd program for creating junctions. I therefore decided to write my own junction-creating tool: Junction. Junction not only allows you to create NTFS junctions, it allows you to see if files or directories are actually reparse points. Reparse points are the mechanism on which NTFS junctions are based, and they are used by Windows Remote Storage Service (RSS), as well as volume mount points.
Use Junction If you want to view reparse information:
Usage: junction [-s]
-s
Recurse subdirectories.
If you want to create or delete a junction, use Junction like this:
Usage: junction [-d] [ ]
To delete a junction specify the -d switch and the junction name.
PDF Junction provides a set of processing tools for PDF files, including splitting, merging, setting of security and other attributes, and generation of XML metadata files.
The product has both a GUI and command-line interface.
Limitations:
Generated PDF files have a "trial version" message.

Tiff to Text III 4.0 is an useful application that is designed to perform Optical Character Recognition (OCR) in a batch process. The program utilizes the OCR engine from Nuance (Owners of OMNI Page - formally ScanSoft) that is included with Microsoft Office Document Imaging (MODI).
It uses the OCR engine in Microsofts Document Imaging. (Scansofts Engine) This program is ideal for processing large volumes of tif images. It also has the ability to monitor a file folder hierarchy for new images. This monitor function is great for output from a copier.
This program is ideal for the unattended creation of high quality text files that match tiff images. It will allow the operator of a copy machine with a scan to folder option to automatically output a searchable tiff, a text file and a PDF. The high quality of OCR text makes it ideal for research projects such as litigation support
Set up instructions:
- Include Sub Directories – this will OCR all the tif images in the Sub Directories of the root
- Duplicate Folder Structure – this makes a matching output file folder hierarchy of the
- OCR’d images, if not selected all output files will be placed in the output root.
- Display Status – allows the user to see what file is being OCR’d
- Output Text File Only – just creates a matching text file from the OCR contents
- Delete Original Tiff image – Deletes the file that was processed
Major Features:

- With Tiff to Text if discovery documents arrive on a CD the user just copies the files to a folder on their hard drive, selects an output folder and lets the software do it's job.
- An average CD contains up to 10,000 images and they can be processed at an average of 900 pages per hour. This average was calculated on typical single page discovery document in a G4 tiff format.
- If the discovery documents arrive as paper files the user can use the scan to file option on their copier and have the output tif images OCR'd.

- Custom - the user can input a string of character codes to be returned from the OCR such as 10, 13, 48-57 which would just output the numbers contained within the tif image.
