Operators with a PC or off line machine experience can very easily use the software. Formats are defined in the same way as in standard off-line data entry machines using dashes -.

A field here is represented by "A--------" a letter followed by minus signs. The number of minus signs are one less than the length of the field. And the "A" represents the type of field. In this case an alpha field. The "N" represents a numeric field...
One record consists of a single line as viewed in a Text Editor ( EDIT.COM in WIN9x/WIN2000/WINME).Here the data entry record is shown in a line in the same way as it is stored on disc. Access, and others store records in the same way but the data entry screen can have many variations.
