Microsoft Windows 98 SE Large IDE
This update addresses an issue on Windows? 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition computers that have an integrated device electronics (IDE) hard disk that is larger than 32 gigabytes (GB) in size more>> This update addresses an issue on Windows? 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition computers that have an integrated device electronics (IDE) hard disk that is larger than 32 gigabytes (GB) in size.
If you use the protected-mode (graphical) version of ScanDisk to perform a thorough scan (which includes a surface scan) on an IDE hard disk that is larger than 32 GB, ScanDisk may report errors on every cluster after approximately cluster number 967,393.
This problem only occurs on computers that use a Phoenix BIOS and use the Phoenix BitShift translation algorithm to report the geometry of large IDE hard disks (larger than 32 GB). Your computer is not vulnerable if the BIOS uses logical block addressing (LBA) Assist translation instead of the Phoenix BitShift translation.
NOTE: If you have upgraded from another version of Windows and selected to save your previous version of Windows during the upgrade, you will not be able to uninstall back to your previous version of Windows with this update installed. Disabling the option to uninstall Windows ensures that your system will continue to support your large IDE drive.
More information regarding this update can be found in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB), Article Q243450.

Microsoft Windows 95 Update: Windows Socket Kernel
This update resolves a very small memory leak which occurs when opening and closing a connection using the Windows Sockets API more>> This update resolves a very small memory leak which occurs when opening and closing a connection using the Windows Sockets API. (A memory leak prevents a program from freeing up memory that it no longer needs.) This is an update and component that has been released since the Microsoft Windows 95 Service Pack 1 (Sept 10, 1996).
Without this update, running an application which opens and closes a large number of "winsock" connections over a long period of time may result a significant resource drain. This can cause the Windows swapfile to grow very large, overall deterioration of performance, and over time, possible system instability. This update resolves these issues.
Most applications that use "winsock" connections (such as a Web browser) open the connection once at the beginning of a session and maintain that connection, and do not require this update. Applications that tend to open and close winsock connections are more like Web servers that may open a connection for each page served. If you need to run these types of applications continuously over long periods of time, you will benefit from this update.
Important: Do not install the Kernel32 Update on the English Pan European version of Microsoft? Windows? 95 or any other non-English version of Windows 95.
Important: Do not install the Kernel Update on a machine with Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2 (OSR 2) installed. To determine if you are running OSR 2, go to the System applet of the Control Panel. If the version number reported is 4.00.950 B, do not install the Service Pack 1 Update. Your system already contains the appropriate fix.

Microsoft Windows 2000 Unchecked Buffer in SNMP Se Q314147

Download now to prevent a malicious user from running code of his or her choice or launching a denial of service (DoS) attack on your computer.
The vulnerability exists because a component of the SNMP agent service that interprets incoming commands contains an unchecked buffer (a temporary data storage area that has a limited capacity). Note The SNMP service is neither installed nor running by default in any version of Windows.
