get.WAN.ip allows you to read your external ip number (WAN).

FreeS/WAN is an implementation of IPSEC & IKE for Linux. IPSEC is Internet Protocol SECurity. It uses strong cryptography to provide both authentication and encryption services. Authentication ensures that packets are from the right sender and have not been altered in transit. Encryption prevents unauthorised reading of packet contents. These services allow you to build secure tunnels through untrusted networks.

Two protocols are used

ESP (Encapsulating Security Payload) provides encryption plus authentication
IKE (Internet Key Exchange) negotiates connection parameters, including keys, for ESP

Freeswan implementation has three main parts:

KLIPS (kernel IPsec) implements ESP, and packet handling within the kernel
Pluto (an IKE daemon) implements IKE, negotiating connections with other systems
various scripts provide an adminstrators interface to the machinery.

Because IPsec operates at the network layer, it is remarkably flexible and can be used to secure nearly any type of Internet traffic. Two applications, however, are extremely widespread:

a Virtual Private Network, or VPN, allows multiple sites to communicate securely over an insecure Internet by encrypting all communication between the sites.
"Road Warriors" connect to the office from home, or perhaps from a hotel somewhere

There is enough opportunity in these applications that vendors are flocking to them. IPsec is being built into routers, into firewall products, and into major operating systems, primarily to support these applications. See our list of implementations for details.

We support both of those applications, and various less common IPsec applications as well, but we also add one of our own:

opportunistic encryption, the ability to set up FreeS/WAN gateways so that any two of them can encrypt to each other, and will do so whenever packets pass between them.

This is an extension we are adding to the protocols. FreeS/WAN is the first prototype implementation, though we hope other IPsec implementations will adopt the technique once we demonstrate it. See project goals below for why we think this is important.

A somewhat more detailed description of each of these applications is below. Our quickstart section will show you how to build each of them.

WAN Check automatically checks to see if you are connected to the internet, and alerts you if you arent! You can change the frequency of the checking, as well as have it alert you when you are reconnected again. It can log the date/time, e-mail you, and just display an alert message.

Watch WAN IP is intended to allow users to monitor the external IP address of their firewall/router connected to the Internet.

Many broadband providers assign IP addresses by DHCP rather than assigning static IP addresses. While these DHCP addresses might not change frequently, if/when they do change, it can cause you to be unable to connect to your home network/computers remotely.

For instance, if you host a web site on a server at home or use a remote control program such as Terminal Services, PCAnywhere, or VNC, you need to know what your current WAN IP address is to be able to connect. This program will allow you to be notified via E-Mail, FTP, or both of the new IP address when it changes.

Watch WAN IP works by "Screen Scraping" the IP address off of your router and comparing it to the old address. This means that the program will connect to the router to get the HTML source of the configuration page the WAN IP is displayed on. Then, using parameters you define, locates and extract the IP address from the HTML source. If the IP has changed, it will notify you.

QuickTime Killer description
QuickTime Killer will remove QuickTime from start up and kill any running QuickTime processes QuickTime Killer is intended for people that use or consume Sprint Video Mail, as Sprint uses QuickTime for viewing thier movies. (or anybody that hates QuickTime) Of course, as soon as QuickTime is ran, it adds itself to startup, which is very annoying to me.

QuickTime Killer will remove QuickTime from start up and kill any running QuickTime processes. This application runs silently at start up and closes itself as soon as it takes care of QuickTime

AD Popup Killer is an intelligent popup killer that can identify all the unwanted popup windows and kill them before they appear on the screen.

Popup Killer helps you deal with those annoying popup windows when you are surfing the Internet.


Popup Killer lets you add window titles to a list. And the next time it sees this window it kills it automatically.

You can also assign a hot key to Popup Killer, and when you press this hot key it brings up the Add Window to banned list dialog.

Banned Windows
In this screen you can add, edit and remove windows to the banned windows list. When you select Add a new dialog box appears with a list of active windows. Select the window you want to disappear and click OK. With Edit you can change the text of an existing entry in the list. Click Remove to remove unwanted window titles. The Import option lets you import entries from an external file (for example a list of another popup killer).

Options
Available options are: Launch with Windows Startup adds the application to your Startup folder. Startup minimized in system tray starts the application in system tray without showing the main dialog.
Interval (seconds) lets you specify the interval in which the application should check for popup windows. You can also assign a hot key to the application, and when you press this hot key it brings up the Add Window to banned list dialog.

Intelligent
The Intelligent Banner Killer detects the size of a new Internet Explorer/Netscape and kills it before it can even load anything.
Warning: It might also kill some useful windows as well !

The main reason for writing App Killer was to stop the infestation of spyware that normally comes with P2P (Peer 2 Peer) applications and the legalities of downloading copywrited material.

The software works in a unique way, this enables applications to be blocked no matter what the file name or window title is. It will check your system every 30 seconds for programs on your block list, if it finds any open then it will close them immediately.

As you will see, since the original P2P Killer software was developed we have added many more programs to the block list. For this reason we decided to move from the P2P Killer name to a more generic name App Killer.
