instead of:
Color c = new Color(255, 0, 0);
use the frequency in nanometers, and gamma 0.0. .. 1.0.
(gamma is intensity/brightness.)
Color c = Wavelength.wvColor( 400.0f, 0.80f );
The visible range of the spectrum is 380..780 nanometers.
Smaller is bluer.
or using frequency in Terahertz and gamma 0.0. .. 1.0.
Color c = Wavelength.fColor( 500.0f, 1.0f );
The visible range of the spectrum is 384..789 TeraHertz.
Smaller is redder.
Wavelength does not do much on its own. It is intended to be
incorporated into your own programs.
You might use it to draw a realistic rainbow, or to write
educational Applets about the light spectrum.

Heaven on Fire is a gallery of some of the most beautiful sunsets ever captured. As the sun sinks toward the horizon, sunlight enters the atmosphere at a much lower angle and consequently must pass through a lot more atmosphere before being seen by an observer. Air molecules scatter away the shorter wavelengths of light (violet and blue) and the only light which penetrates through the atmosphere are the longer wavelengths of light (yellow, orange and red) which produce colorful sunsets. Heaven on Fire is a free screensaver created by RateMyScreensaver.com containing 23 high quality photographs.

Spitzer Image Gallery 1 is created as a professional and useful program which displays the latest image and provides a browsing feature to view all of the available images from within Spitzer Image Gallery. The Spitzer Space Telescope (formerly SIRTF, the Space Infrared Telescope Facility) was launched into space by a Delta rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida on 25 August 2003. During its 2.5-year mission, Spitzer will obtain images and spectra by detecting the infrared energy, or heat, radiated by objects in space between wavelengths of 3 and 180 microns (1 micron is one-millionth of a meter).

The Web site Spitzer Image Gallery grabs imagery from is maintained by the Spitzer Science Center, located on the campus of the California Institute of Technology and part of NASA's Infrared Processing and Analysis Center.

Crimson Skies is a breathtaking free screensaver of the most beautiful sunsets more>> Nothing beats a beautiful sunset and even if you can't be on a beach enjoying one in person, we've got the next best thing. Crimson Skies is a breathtaking slideshow of some of the most beautiful red sunsets you have ever seen. Beware though, this screensaver is guaranteed to make you want to stop working early! Crimson Skies is a free screensaver created by RateMyScreensaver.com containing 11 high quality photographs.
The red hues of the sky at sunset and sunrise are caused by Mie Scattering, not Rayleigh Scattering. The colours of the sky throughout the day and at sunrise and sunset, are explained by the phenomena of both Rayleigh Scattering and Mie Scattering. The colour of the sky described by Rayleigh Scattering applies to the hues of blue, violet and green, not to the reds, oranges, peaches and purples of sunrise and sunset. Rayleigh Scattering is scattering of shorter wavelength light (e.g. blue & violet) by air atoms and molecules (not statistical variations in density of the Earth's atmosphere). The magnitude or strength of Rayleigh Scattering varies by the reciprocal of the wavelength raised to the fourth power, and hence does not explain the beautiful variations of reds, purples, oranges and peachy colours. - wiki

SkyDome is a starmap including the radio sky with an original user interface.
SkyDome is a star chart utility which eneables you to study stars, planets, galaxies andradio sky using an interactive interface.
SkyDome is one of the few electronic skymaps that display the multiwavelength milkyway, or The Radio Sky.
Different types of radiation are visualized via the interface, like 408MHz radiowaves, gamma-, x-rays,.... Each frequency shows different aspects of the universe. SkyDome has maps created by satellites like COBE, EGRET, IUE etc.
The movement of the stars in the constellations during the earths rotation is easy to understand when looking at a distance. This is the aliens view. The alien (you) looks from outside the universe at fixed spot on the planet and sees the nightsky of the observer.
Main features:
- Data from approx. 120000 stars from the Hipparcos catalogue from ESA, 1989. Real-time and fastforward rendered. The users perspective (longitude and latitude) can be changed using the mouse.
- Planetary bodys like Sun, Moon and planet positions are the map.
- The Multi Wavelength Milky way and Radio Sky is rendered at real-time.
- A Radio source from El Arecibo (Puerto Rico) is included and drawn using IFS.
- The Fish-eye view displays the sky from the earths ground (and looking straight up).
- Controllable Light-Transfer-Function The nightsky looks very differently under different conditions. This has to do with the light-pollution and other atmospheric conditions. You can simulate this using keyboard controls. -

SortedArrayList 1.3

SortedArrayList 1.3

SortedArrayList is an ArrayList that keeps lists sorted with minimal work. Merge lets you merge/prune two SortedArrayLists in any of 32 different ways, e.g. union, intersection, update... more>>

This is a pair of library classes to include in your own
code for manipulating ArrayLists.
It consist of two classes: SortedArrayList and Merge.
SortedArrayList is an ArrayList that remembers how it is
sorted, so that if you ask it to sort, it can sometimes
bypass the work when it is already in order. You declare the
order you want and it keeps the list sorted, You just call
sort whenever you need the list to be in perfect order. It
may or may not actually sort the list at that time. It
automatically avoids physically sorting when it does not
really have to.
Merge lets you merge/prune two SortedArrayLists in any of 32
different ways, e.g. union, intersection, update... It also
lets you dedup and prune individual SortedArrayLists.
They are used extensively as part the replicatorsender
package. Having an look at that code may give you a more
realistic view of what they can do.
To use them, have a look at the source code and the sample
drivers. They dont do anything useful standalone. You must
incorporate them into your own code.
Why the spectrum icon? It represent the colours of light
sorted in order by wavelength.

Requirements: Java 1.5+

Whats new in this version: add pad, icon, tidy code, more documentation.
