DigiPan 2.0
DigiPan - bring the ease and simplicity of PANORAMIC reception and transmission to PSK31 and PSK63 operation more>>
Low-cost transceiver kits for 10 meters, 20 meters, 30 meters, 40 meters, and 80 meters, the PSK-10, PSK-20, PSK-30, PSK-40, and Warbler (PSK-80), are available from Small WonderLabs that make full use of DigiPans panoramic capabilities through the use of a 3000 Hz wideband IF
In addition to using DigiPans PACTOR RX to identify a PACTOR mailbox signal, which only consistently transmits identification if it is successful in connecting with a fixed PACTOR station, mobile PACTOR mailbox stations are also supposed to transmit their callsign in either PACTOR or CW if they fail to connect with a fixed automatic PACTOR station.
This identification has always been required by FCC regulations, and was supposed to have been phased in over the summer of 2003, but it is almost never done. Listen for CW ID at the end of the PACTOR transmission if it does not trigger a transmission from the other PACTOR station, or quickly switch DigiPan to PACTOR RX and look for the callsign of the calling station.
For example, when you see , W1AW is the callsign of the fixed PACTOR mailbox station being called, not the callsign of the calling station. If sent by PACTOR, the callsign of the calling station will be shown in addition to the called stations callsign, or by CW at the end of the PACTOR transmission.
Speex 1.2 Beta 2
Designed for compressing voice at low bitrates more>>
The Speex Project aims to lower the barrier of entry for voice applications by providing a free alternative to expensive proprietary speech codecs. Moreover, Speex is well-adapted to Internet applications and provides useful features that are not present in most other codecs.
Speex is a useful audio compression utility that will come in handy.
Finally, Speex is part of the GNU Project and is available under the Xiph.org variant of the BSD license.
Speex is based on CELP and is designed to compress voice at bitrates ranging from 2 to 44 kbps.
Features:
- Narrowband (8 kHz), wideband (16 kHz), and ultra-wideband (32 kHz) compression in the same bitstream
- Intensity stereo encoding
- Packet loss concealment
- Variable bitrate operation (VBR)
- Voice Activity Detection (VAD)
- Discontinuous Transmission (DTX)
Note that Speex has a number of features that aren?t in other codecs such as intensity stereo encoding, integration of multiple sampling rates in the same bitstream, and a VBR mode...etc.

AMR Player 1.1
freeware to play AMR audio files and convert AMR with MP3/WAV more>>
AMR Player 1.1 (Adaptive Multi-Rate) is an audio data compression scheme optimized for speech coding. AMR was adopted as the standard speech codec by 3GPP in October 1998 and is now widely used in GSM and UMTS. It uses link adaptation to select from one of eight different bit rates based on link conditions.
AMR is an audio format which is extensively used in mobile devices in various applications ranging from normal audio player/recorder to VoIP kind of applications. AMR can be further categorized as: AMR-NB( NarrowBand ) and AMR-WB( WideBand ).
AMR-WB ensures that speech quality is optimized in a mobile station by verifying its ability to determine when to request a change to another codec with either more or less error correction and protection as signal quality changes. AMR-NB (Adaptive Multi-Rate Narrowband) is a vocoder employed in low-bitrate applications like mobile phones.
AMR is also a file format for storing spoken audio using the AMR codec. Many modern mobile telephone handsets will allow you to store short recordings in the AMR format, it should be remembered that AMR is a speech format and is unlikely to give ideal results for other audio. The common filename extension is .amr.
AMR Player is one freeware to let you can play the AMR audio files on your PC, and support to convert common multimedia file formats ( such as MP3 or WAV) to audio AMR/AWB format, or output AMR audio files to MP3/WAV audio format.
The usage of AMR Player is very simple, click "Add Files" button of the main interface, select the one ".amr" file, then click "Play" button, AMR Player can decode the AMR audio file, then play the audio/music for you. If you want to convert AMR to MP3 format, just select one AMR files that you had added, click "AMR to MP3", input one MP3 file name, the free program can convert your AMR files at once, both MP3 and WAV are popular audio formats.
Major Features:
