These Year 2000 updates are also available as separate Web downloads that customers may apply to a Service Pack 4 system. Providing these options gives organizations the flexibility to choose which path is easier for them to address Year 2000 issues. SP5 is not a required upgrade for Year 2000; Microsoft recommends that each customer consult the SP5 documentation and then determine whether to deploy it. All SP5 updates are included in SP6.
SP5 is available in Standard Encryption (40-bit) or High Encryption (128-bit) versions for both the Intel x86 and DEC Alpha platforms. Both versions contain the same updates and differ only in the level of encryption. The Standard Encryption versions below allow you to choose a language for SP5 and select a specific downloading site.
Note: If you have previously installed 128-bit components on your system, download the High Encryption version.
