WIREFRAME was inspired by the "lost" Letraset font BOMBERE, designed by Carla Bombere more>>
Like BLOCKUP, Bombere apparently did not make the transition from dry-transfer (rub-down) letters into digital type.
WIREFRAME is a freeware font which includes numbers, international characters, caps, punctuation, and punctuation.
Rather than draw this font directly from Bombere, I started again, studying what made it work. I used the basic letterforms of the classic Franklin Gothic, refashioning the G, the 1, and some others. But Franklin Gothic would still make a good companion font.
This font uses the principle of the NECKER CUBE, creating a neat visual ambiguity. "A drawing of a wire cube...which spontaneously reverses in depth...
was first described by...L. A. Necker...in 1832." (Oxford Companion to the Mind, R.L.Gregory, editor).

Ive tried out several commercial polygon reduction tools in the past, and this is easily as good or better than them. Its extremely simple to use and the polygon reduction is great. Very useful for simplifying models made with nurbs or metaballs. It reduced a high-poly vrml model from 617kb to 115kb with practically no difference in appearance. I had to check the wireframe view to be sure of what I was seeing lol. Congrats on a cool tool :)

"Great program, and best of all free." While only supporting one format and you can not view your model with the program. It is still awseome! The reduction methods are great and high poly models when reduced, arnt butchered and can signifitly reduce the polycount with out major quality reduction. Cheers to the developers for this great program (and making it free ;)) mus have for any modeler.

We are right now using XXX (one very expensive reduction tool) and I tested your software and it worked good. In some case better (preserved more details) and in some case a little bit worse. But in total I was very impressed. We want to use CAD files and we all know how much work it is to opimize CAD for real-time. Since there are a wide range of different CAD formats we have to select a format that everybody can export to and I guess that is VRML or maybe stl.

FlashBrite3D has been designed to work around jpg and png images. Instead of defining a map of characters to either be on or off, we are converting the image into text. Next, a new 3D representation of the image appears, being based on the resulting text,
The color and alpha will be tested and the 3d object will retain the color of the image along with turning invisible if there is 100% transparent in this area.
Setup if very simple. Download and extract the .zip file, and modify the fb3d_v2_config.xml file. The config values are defined as such:
Options node holds the variables:
- @spacing_mod - 1 based multiplier for the spacing between objects.
- @mod_x - add how much to the x position?
- @mod_y - add how much to the y position?
- @size_mod - 1 based multiplier for altering base size of objects.
- @poly_mod - 1 based multiplier for altering the default polygon count for objects. Note, square needs > 1.
- @resolution - Resolution detail of the image. 0.04 is a good base number. Below 0.021 seems to kill Flash
- @blur_fx - blur strength of the blur bitmap effect layer. 0 = off. 1 = painting.
- @pixel_fx - 1 based multiplier for adding pixels to every shape. 0 = off.
- @zoom - camera zoom, lower numbers show more.
- @focus - camera focus.
- @mtype - Material type. Options are: wireframe, solid, phong, gouraud, flat, cell, pixel3d, none.
- @src - the url of the image to be converted.
- @original - show the original image.
- @output - show trace output.
If you want to change the path for the xml file, just edit the 3d_text.html file. The xml reference is in a number of locations. You will also be able to adjust the size and background color in the html.

The emphasis of the BezierDraw project was on being able to manipulate the objects with a mouse, clone the objects easily, and produce radial symmetry about a centre point.
The original intent was to produce a monochrome wireframe display which could be printed at high resolution, and perhaps colored by hand after printing.
The word Bezier is used in the program title because almost all the drawing is done using Bezier curves, the only exception being the occasional ellipse. The Bezier curves are spliced together in various ways to produce the desired object.
These curves were chosen for two reasons: firstly, they are rendered extremely rapidly by the graphics engine, so it is possible to do live manipulation with a mouse; secondly, the standard vector graphics file formats such as SVG have full support for them.
Since Bezier curves were used, the resulting shapes are not absolutely true hyperbolas or trochoids; however, in most cases you would be hard-pressed to tell the difference.
The program is written in Visual Basic 6, and has no special installation procedures.

- Support for a coloring operation which operates like a floodfill in a bitmap, with a color-picker.
- Support for a zoom feature, for more precise positioning of objects.

- The corollary to SVG output is that color-filling can be done using other programs, such as Inkscape, which use a completely different set of rules for filling objects: totally vector-based, not bitmap-based.

The planet, moons, and rings of interest (or comet, nucleus, and tail), stars, the sun, and the spacecraft are all accurately drawn with wireframe representations. Hidden line removal is done for the body surfaces.
The motions of the bodies themselves are highly accurate, with errors no greater than 500 kilometers. The user has considerable control over the time step, field of view, etc., and many frames per second are typically generated.
The program was originally developed at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory by John D. Callahan to assist in the analysis of science and optical navigation data.
In addition, the program was filmed by the BBC as part of a NOVA documentary on the Voyager Uranus encounter, and by the Four Point Entertainment Company for a commercially available video on Halleys Comet. Program conveniently runs from any Windows/DOS.
