Open and Close CD-Rom is a simple software application that will do as it is names, will open and close the cd rom door.

A small program that sits in the tray and is easily accessible. What it does is when the user double clicks on the icon it will force all programs that are currently open to shut down without questioning. Good for those private sessions and emergency situations. Definitely worth a try.

No Tab Close is a useful Firefox extension which removes close tab buttons from tabs (Firefox 2/1.6a) and the button on the right (Firefox 1.x).
This is for people that like to close their tabs with a middle click.

Back IS Close will replace in Mozilla Firefox the "Back" button with a "Close" button when the "Back" button is disabled because there is no page to go "back" to. That Close Button will close the tab or browser, as appropriate.
Back IS Close is the perfect complement to tabbed browsing: it closes the many tabs tabbed browsing opens. Back IS Close works most effectively when you map a mouse button (I use the right mouse button) to send "Alt-Left Arrow". Then one mouse button will either take you back to the previous page, or close the tab if no previous page exists, making for quick, convenient browsing.
Theres a tiny "Easter Egg" in Back IS Close, which allows you to get to its preferences dialog more easily than going through Tools|Extensions. See if you can find it.
