Find A Word is a word game. There are five turns to a game and each turn lasts 30, 60 or 90 seconds, selectable by the user; a countdown is displayed to let you know when the end of the turn is near more>> Find A Word is a word game. There are five turns to a game and each turn lasts 30, 60 or 90 seconds, selectable by the user; a countdown is displayed to let you know when the end of the turn is near. When you click the "Start Game" button, you will see three vowels and five consonants in the Letter Pot field. Your goal is to make as many words as you can from these letters. Enter Your Word and click on the "Enter" button (or press the Return key). To be accepted, a word must be made from the Letter Pot letters, be included in the Find A Word dictionary (no proper names, contractions or abbreviations) and be unique (not used before in this turn). If you do not want to wait until the end of the turn, click the "Start Turn" button to continue through your five turns. The "End Game" button clears all words and scoring. You get ten points for each word plus one point for each letter in the word. If you find 30 words before the end of a turn, the turn ends and you get 200 bonus points plus a time bonus (1/10/100 points per unused second for 90/60/30 seconds per turn). At the end of five turns, your Total Score will be compared to the top ten scores. If your score is within the ten top scores, your name, score, number of turns that you received a bonus and your Time per Turn will be added to the High Scores table. The High Scores window can be accessed at any time from the menu bar. You can edit a name in the High Scores window by double-clicking a name, typing a new name, and pressing the "Enter" button.<<less

Create tests with answers scrambled. Produces one time saving score report and item analysis when scored with A Better Multiple-Choice. Control cheating and give students the option to report what they know and dont know. Use spell checker and all fonts. Designed for teachers and secretaries who routinely produce two versions of each test from test bank files or from printed copies of the test bank files edited by teachers. Multiple-choice, true/false, fill-in-the-blank, short-answer, and matching. Include internal headings and situations. Contains Word macros. Question input is designed for high quality questions. (1) Write a descriptive statement, true/false. (2) Move a key term to R1, fill-in-the-blank. (3) Remove the end, short answer. (4) Remove the end and enter one or two acceptable answers and up to four unacceptable answers, multiple-choice. Answers are always randomized, unless specifically locked. This makes it easy to discuss test results by refering to the question by number and its full answer without mentioning the test key. Alternate right answers also suppress cheating and force students to use higher levels of thinking. The goal for the ODF Add-in for Microsoft Word is to provide an Add-in to Microsoft Word to allow opening and saving OpenDocument format (ODF) files.
The converter is based on XSL transformations between two XML formats, along with some pre- and post-processing to manage the packaging (zip / unzip), schema incompatibility processings and the integration into Microsoft Word. We chose to use an Open Source development model that will allow developers from all around the globe to participate and contribute to this project.
Along with the Add-in for Microsoft Word, we also provide a command line translator that allows doing batch conversions. This translator could also be run on the server side for certain scenarios.
