Windows Service Finder is an handy tool for system administrators and hackers. It shows the complete list of installed services on operating system, both device drivers (kernel) and Win32 EXE, and for each service it reports detailed informations about: name, description, actual status, execution start mode, name and dimension of the associated executable file. Windows Service Finder allows you to terminate a service and to delete from disk the associated executable file using the "/ks" option (it means "Kill service"). This functionality is very useful especially to delete device drivers services (kernel), that default service manager of Windows doesnt allow you. Beyond services, Windows Services Finder work with boot registry keys too, those registry values that contains EXE file name automatically launched at system startup (used by some virus). Boot registry keys and associated EXE file can be both deleted, using the "/kr" option (it means "Kill registry"). In order to complete all these "kill" operations you must login to system with the administrator rights! You can show details about a single service passing to wsf.exe the name of the service as a parameter (es> wsf.exe "Dhcp" [PRESS ENTER]). |

Lasso is a free software C library aiming to implement the Liberty Alliance standards; Lasso defines processes for federated identities, single sign-on and related protocols. Lasso is built on top of libxml2, XMLSec and OpenSSL and is licensed under the GNU General Public License (with an OpenSSL exception). We strongly recommend the use of the GNU General Public License each time it is possible. But for proprietary projects, that wouldnt want to use it, we designed a commercial license. Lasso first focused on implementing the Liberty Alliance ID-FF 1.2 protocols. Work is now underway to provide backward compatibility with ID-FF 1.1 implementations and to implement support for ID-WSF 1.0. SWIG is used to provide high-level bindings for other languages. Currently tested and distributed bindings are Python, Perl, Java and PHP as well as preliminary .NET assemblies (for C# and the .NET runtime environment). It is primarly developed on GNU/Linux and works on many UNIX environments (including Apple MacOS X) and on Microsoft Windows. Whats New in This Release: · SAMLv2 support was completed, passing a conformance event organized by the Liberty Alliance. · Memory leaks and potential segmentation faults were fixed. |

ExeScript is an excellent solution for advanced PC users who do not know any programming languages. They can create (compile) their own executable files without writing a single line of code. There are number of features unique to this program, for example, "silent mode" support - a stealth batch file feature that makes execution of converted scripts "invisible" to other users. Those who know a little bit of programming will like the fact that ExeScript comes with a built-in .bat, .vbs and .js file editor which features syntax highlighting and makes editing of files a simple and straightforward process. ExeScript provides a number of other benefits. For instance, it can be used for automating scheduled tasks execution. The program can also be used to help you create installation files and deployment modules. ExeScript is fast, simple and compiles any .bat, .vbs, .js, .wsf, .wsh and .hta file to .exe format files. It is compatible with Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/x64 Edition. Executable packages created with ExeScript can be run in all Windows operating systems. |

Authentic project is a Liberty-enabled identity provider aiming to address a broad range of needs, from simple to complex setups. Its Liberty compliance relies on Lasso, a free softaware implementation of the Liberty Alliance specifications. It is a quixote application and is commonly run inside the Apache Web server. Here are some key features of "Authentic": Liberty conformance While not certified itself Authentic implements Liberty protocols through the use of Lasso that has been certified as conformat to Liberty specifications in May 2005. Authentic implements every feature required by the Identity Provider Conformance Matrix. Additionally it has several extra features; for example it can act as a proxy identity provider, redirecting requests from service providers to other identity providers; or sharing identity attributes through ID-WSF Personal Profile (with an appropriate version of Lasso). Performance The underlying components are quite fast and Authentic doesnt slow things down. There are no hard measure yet but a quick benchmark using ab (from Apache) yielded more than 200 requests per second on my development laptop (Centrino 1.5GHz, 1GB RAM). Ease of Administration Authentic has a nice and useful web administrative interface; it provides convenient identity management and log analysis. It also has its share of parameters so it adapts to different needs without any code change. Whats New in This Release: · This release fixes minor but annoying issues with 0.7.0 (error display and translations). |
