Yahoo & Google Historical Quotes Downloader 2.9.1 is a totally free tool that allows traders and investors to acquire free daily historical quotes from several data providers (currently Yahoo, Google MSN and experimentally, QuoteMedia, with more to come). YGQD offers a large number of features and configuration options while still being intuitive and is easy to use, with default settings that make sense in most cases. YGQD takes symbols lists stored in text files as input and generates files containing the downloaded data, one symbol per file, and optionally, all symbols in one file.
YGQD can be configured to request data using up to 20 simultaneous connections, thus achieving very high downloading performance (depending on the Internet connection speed). YGQD can be configured to retrieve a range or all available data, download the whole range or just update with the most recent bars, optionally adjust data for splits and dividends. Other options include different bar durations (daily, weekly, monthly), data validation, various output formatting options, activity logging, many command line arguments for fully automated downloads, integration with other applications using the exposed API, an extension plug-in API. As a bonus, the package contains a command line utility that downloads all current symbols for Nasdaq, NYSE and Amex.
Enhancements: Version 2.9.1 adds the QuoteMedia datasource plug-in.
